About Mitra

Three decades of caring for newborns and families.

My journey into childcare began in 1995 — and I haven't looked back since.

My Story

When parents feel supported, babies flourish.

My journey into childcare began in 1995, when I qualified as a nursery nurse — and I haven't looked back since. Over the past three decades, I have worked across a wide range of roles, from teaching assistant to family support, where I provided respite care for children with additional needs in their own home.

In 2015, I took the next step and completed my postnatal maternity nurse qualification. Ever since, I have concentrated on supporting families as a newborn practitioner — helping parents through the earliest, most overwhelming, and most precious days of their child's life.

Babies are not fully developed when they are born. They arrive neurologically immature — their brains, nervous systems, and senses are still actively developing. The fourth trimester, from birth to around 12 weeks, is every bit as important as the nine months that came before.

New parents today are handed the most important, life-changing job in the world — and then largely left to figure it out alone. I want to change that.

My Approach

Evidence-based. Empowering. Entirely yours.

As a mum of two, I understand how new parents are often given conflicting advice — and it is not always easy to know who to listen to. My role is not to add another opinion to the mix, but to share evidence-based knowledge so you can make decisions that suit your own family and feel confident in your own choices.

Whether you are breastfeeding, bottle feeding, a first-time parent, or adding to your family — you deserve support that meets you exactly where you are, without a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every family is different, and so is every baby. I take time to understand your concerns and prioritise what matters most to you in these early weeks — and I build my support around your family.

  • Understanding your baby — their cues, their development, and why they do what they do

  • Your recovery, emotionally and physically — because you matter just as much as your baby

  • Building your confidence — so we finish our time together with you trusting yourself

My Wish for Every Parent

"This is not a new problem — it is an old solution we have forgotten. For centuries, new parents were surrounded by family, community, and practical support. That kind of support should be available to every family."
